Description
Axel Pahlavi and Florence Obrecht have teamed up for ANNUAL to sculpt nine female heads. These nine offbeat visions are nine portraits full of pathos, showing people afflicted by phobias, or whose lives have been shattered or destroyed by events. Nothing is said, asserted or suggested; these figures merely prompt a sense of unease, evoking the dark side of our lives. Each head is unique, as if to assert an idea of impossible community – an unlikely gathering of faces without bodies. For Pahlavi and Olbrecht, this remarkable series marks a watershed in the artistic approach.
